SPIRITUAL WARFARE WEAPONRY

(#14 from Building God an Army)

 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord,

and in the power of his might.

PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD,

that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,

but against principalities, against powers,

against the rulers of the darkness of this world,

against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Wherefore take unto you the WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD,

that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day,

and having done all to stand.

Stand therefore,

having your LOINS gird about with TRUTH,

and having the BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS,

and your FEET SHOD with

the PREPARATION of the GOSPEL OF PEACE.

Above all, taking the SHIELD OF FAITH,

 wherewith ye shall be able to

 quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

And take the HELMET OF SALVATION,

and the SWORD OF THE SPIRIT,

 which is the WORD OF GOD.

PRAYING ALWAYS and with all

PRAYER AND SUPPLICATION IN THE SPIRIT,

and WATCHING thereunto

 with all PRESERVATION AND SUPPLICATION

for ALL SAINTS. And for me,

that UTTERANCE MAY BE GIVEN UNTO ME,

that I may OPEN MY MOUTH BOLDLY,

to MAKE KNOWN the MYSTERY OF THE GOSPEL.”

Ephesians 6:10-19

Other than the sword, these are defensive weapons. The sword can be either an offensive or defensive weapon. These are weapons used in spiritual warfare. They protect our front completely. The only unprotected area is our back.

Do not turn your back on our adversary the devil. Also become aware of who is protecting your back. The popular phrase 'getting stabbed in the back' can apply here. The devil is looking for any opening to 'stab you in the back' that he can get.

No army in the history of mankind ever won a war on the defensive. That is the condition of too much of our church today. We are simply sitting back in our comfortable pews with our defensive armor, while the enemy is winning battle after battle after battle.

In order to become victorious in this spiritual warfare over the souls of man,

WE MUST ATTACK.

The 4 main offensive weapons that we have against our enemy, in addition to the sword are prayer, praise, speaking the Word, and testimonies.

Now is the time to get up off our spiritual duffs and attack.

Prayer warriors must go first to break down the enemy’s barriers. Then God’s end-time army can enter and bring the captives home.

Spiritual Warfare Weaponry

Prayer is one of our offensive weapons in spiritual warfare against the enemy!

Prayer strengthens God's people!   

Prayer weakens Satan's forces! 

Sin is what gives Satan and his demons legal access into our lives! 

Prayer is what gives the Holy Spirit legal access into the lives of the lives of the POWs that Satan is holding captive!  

When we pray, God hears our prayers. God then sends his angels to answer those prayers!

God then sends his Spirit to work on the hearts of the captives, to make them ready to receive the Gospel message!

Our Lord wants a huge army of prayer warriors from all nations of the world to unite in an offensive attack against our enemy Satan. This is war, spiritual warfare for the souls of man.

Prayer is an offensive weapon against our enemy.

Prayer warriors will lead the battle. They are like the bombers that go in first to destroy the enemy’s strongholds. Then the foot soldiers can enter and set the captives free.

Prayer is what breaks down the enemy’s barriers that he has erected around the captives. Then, God’s end-time army can enter and bring the captives home.

We are inviting every born again Christian to become a prayer warrior. You are not asked to leave your church or existing prayer group.

What is important is that you get connected into GOD'S INTERNATIONAL COMPANY OF PRAYER WARRIORS somewhere.

Our Lord wants us to join forces like the allies did in World War II. That is what we mean by NETWORKING with one another.

There is such strength in unity. Satan understands that. That is why he tries to keep us divided.

The next thing that you are asked to do is submit the names of your unsaved loved ones and personal needs for the prayer warriors to pray for.

Note: Keep the actual prayer requests at te local level. Just make sure that you are connected to the rest of God's Army somewhere.

If you already have a prayer group and would like to network with other prayer groups and become part of a larger body, get connected into GOD'S INTERNATIONAL PRAYER WARRIOR COMPANY somewhere.

The actual prayer requests can remain at the local level. They key is to be connected.

Satan’s agents will infiltrate our ministry. It’s not a matter of if, but when.

Satan’s agents know how to do the right things and say the right words. They have been trained well.

Ask for the gift of discernment and report any questionable activity. Be aware that Satan and his demons can also counterfeit the gifts of the Holy Spirit listed in 1 Corinthians 12. This is not a witch-hunt, but we must be prudent to the ways of the enemy.

 Spiritual Warfare Weaponry

In order to win any battle, you must have weapons. This war is fought in the spiritual realm; therefore, the weaponry must be spiritual also.

There are 2 types of weapons, defensive and offensive. Spiritual warfare is different than the conventional wars that are fought on this earth in our physical bodies.

Our worldly weaponry is useless in the spiritual realm. How can you kill a spirit that you cannot see? You can’t.  Spirits don’t die! What do we do then?

Spiritual warfare is fought with a different type of weaponry. Not only are the weapons different, but the rules of war are different also.

Jesus is the Commander in Chief of his end-time army. As I write this, he is gathering his troops and will soon send forth the call to march into enemy territory. This is spiritual warfare and we need spiritual weapons to fight this battle.

Let’s take a look at our offensive weaponry.

The first army that God is sending forth into enemy territory is the PRAYER WARRIOR ARMY. Our Lord wants us to recruit a huge army of tens of millions of prayer warriors from throughout the world.

There will be 2 parts of this army of prayer warriors. One part of God's Army are INTERCESSORY PRAYER WARRIORS. They can come from independent groups and ministries, but will unite for this common cause.

It’s somewhat like the allied forces in World War II. Each group was independent, but they had the same goals and worked side-by-side.

In this case, Jesus is the Commander in Chief of his end-time army and is giving each one of us our individual assignments.

The second part of the end-time army prayer warriors division are the GENERAL PRAYER WARRIORS.

Every believer in Jesus should become a general prayer warrior!

He wants every person to add a couple sentences to their daily prayers. A sample prayer is at the end of this message. It isn’t the length of prayer that is important in this case, but the fact that you do it.

Prayer is necessary to break through the barriers that Satan has erected around his captives.

Sin is what gives Satan and his demons legal access into our lives.

Prayer is what gives the Holy Spirit legal  access into the lives of the POWs that Satan is holding captive!

The prayer warriors must go first to break down these barriers, and then the regular troops can go in and bring the captives home.

You can liken the prayer warriors to the bombers or intercontinental ballistic missiles that go in before the regular army. They go in first to demolish all of the enemy’s weaponry and arsenals. It is then safer for the regular soldiers to enter.
