In the vast expanse of creation, God has intricately woven the story of your life into a divine narrative often referred to as destiny scrolls or books. These books contain the unique purpose, mission, and assignments God has designed for you. My previous article ("Six-Step Discovery of Your Destiny Scrolls") laid the foundation for understanding these destiny scrolls, and encouraged active engagement in discovering God's plan for your life.

Today, we delve deeper into two critical keys that have the greatest impact on unlocking your destiny: worship and intercession.

We would like to acknowledge Robert Henderson for putting language to something we have been practicing intuitively at Awakening Destiny for years: worship and intercession as keys to unlocking the ability to hear God and to receiving divine downloads.

Throne Room Worship

Before exploring the power of worship and intercession, let us first set the scene with a glimpse into the heavenly throne room as described in Daniel 7.

Daniel 7:9–10 states, "As I looked, thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took His seat. His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of His head was white like wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze. A river of fire was flowing, coming out from before Him. Thousands upon thousands attended Him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. The court was seated, and the books were opened."

In this majestic scene, great worship surrounds the Ancient of Days, and it is within this context that the books are opened.

Worship and the opening of the books are intrinsically connected, highlighting the significance of worship in accessing our divine destinies.

The Importance of Heartfelt Worship

Isaiah 29:13 says, "The Lord says: 'These people come near to Me with their mouth and honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. Their worship of Me is based on merely human rules they have been taught.'"

This passage underscores the importance of worshiping God from the heart.

Worship is not just about singing songs or attending services; it is about a deep, heartfelt connection with God.

True worship brings us into alignment with His heart and opens up the heavens over our lives.

This highlights how the lack of genuine worship can lead to spiritual blindness and closed books of destiny.

The Throne Room of Revelation

Revelation 4 provides another vivid depiction of the heavenly throne room. In Revelation 4, John sees a door standing open in Heaven and is invited to come up and see what must take place. He witnesses the throne of God, surrounded by twenty-four elders and four living creatures who "never stop saying: '"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty," who was, and is, and is to come'" (Revelation 4:8). This continuous worship sets the stage for the unfolding of God's plans.

In Revelation 5, John sees a scroll sealed with seven seals in the right hand of Him who sits on the throne. No one in Heaven or on Earth or under the Earth could open the scroll or even look inside it, causing John to weep bitterly.

However, one of the elders tells him not to weep, because the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed and is worthy to open the scroll and its seven seals.

As the Lamb who was slain takes the scroll, the living creatures and the elders fall down before Him, holding harps, representing worship, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God's people.

They sing a new song, declaring the Lamb's worthiness to take the scroll and open its seals.

It is within this context of worship and the finished work of the Lamb upon the throne that the seals are removed and God's plans are revealed.

Our intercession and worship mingled with Christ's redemptive work makes way for the seals to be broken.

Key #1: Worship – Opening the Seals of Our Destiny

Worship is a powerful key that unlocks the seals on our destiny scrolls.

It is through worship that we align our hearts with God's, creating an atmosphere for His presence to dwell.

True worship goes beyond words and rituals; it is an intimate encounter with the living God in Spirit and truth.

When we worship from the heart, we invite the Holy Spirit to move in our lives, breaking open the seals that have kept us from fully stepping into our divine purpose.

Power of Heartfelt Worship

Heartfelt worship is a response to the revelation of who God is. It is recognizing His majesty, His holiness, and His love.

When we worship in Spirit and truth (John 4:23–24), we connect with God on a deep level, and He begins to reveal the mysteries of His will.

Worship brings us into the throne room of Heaven, where the books are opened, and destinies are unlocked.

Key #2: Intercession Key – Partnering with the Holy Spirit

The second key to unlocking our destiny scrolls is intercession.

In Revelation 5, the golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God's people, play a crucial role in the throne room activity.

Intercession is not just about making requests to God; it is about partnering with the Holy Spirit to bring forth God's will on Earth.

Romans 8:26–27 says, "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God's people in accordance with the will of God."

The Holy Spirit intercedes on our behalf, searching out the deep things of God and revealing them to us.

Through intercession, the Holy Spirit reveals the mysteries of God's will, helping us to understand and walk in our divine purpose.

Intercession Unlocks Revelation

John's weeping in Revelation 5 reflects a deep longing for the seals to be removed and the scroll to be opened. This longing can be seen as a form of intercession, a heartfelt cry for God's will to be revealed.

Intercession involves standing in the gap, crying out to God for the fulfillment of His promises, and seeking His intervention in our lives and circumstances.

Jeremiah 23:18 says, "But which of them has stood in the council of the LORD to see or to hear His word? Who has listened and heard His word?"

Intercession involves standing in the council of the Lord, where we receive revelation about God's will and His plans for our lives.

This divine counsel releases the insights and directions necessary to unlock the books concerning our destinies.

Through intercession, we align ourselves with God's heart and purposes.

We become co-laborers with Christ, partnering with Him to bring His Kingdom to Earth.

As we intercede, the Holy Spirit reveals the deep things of God, providing clarity, direction, and empowerment to walk in our destinies.

The Role of Intercession in Unlocking Destiny

Intercession plays a vital role in unlocking our destiny scrolls.

When we intercede, we engage in spiritual warfare, breaking through barriers and hindrances that may be preventing us from stepping into our God-given purposes. Intercession also brings divine alignment, positioning us to receive the revelations and insights needed to fulfill our destinies.

Scripture provides numerous examples of intercession unlocking destinies.

Moses interceded for the Israelites, and God's plans for the nation were revealed and preserved (Exodus 32:11–14).

Daniel's intercession led to the revelation of significant prophetic insights and the unfolding of God's plans for Israel (Daniel 9:3–23).

Combining Worship and Intercession

Worship and intercession are powerful on their own, but when combined, they create an unstoppable force in the spiritual realm.

Worship brings us into the presence of God, aligning our hearts with His. Intercession partners with the Holy Spirit to bring forth God's will.

Together, they open the seals on our destiny scrolls, allowing us to step into the fullness of God's plan for our lives.

Four Practical Steps for Worship and Intercession

1. Engage Your Heart in Worship

Worship God with your whole heart.

Use music, singing, and other forms of expression to connect with Him deeply. Allow your worship to flow from a place of genuine love and adoration.

2. Set Aside Dedicated Time

Make intentional time for worship and intercession.

Find a quiet place where you can focus on God without distractions. Consistency is key in building a strong spiritual foundation.

3. Pray in the Spirit

Allow the Holy Spirit to guide your prayers.

Pray in tongues if you have that gift and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal God's will as you intercede.

Trust that He is interceding on your behalf and revealing the deep things of God.

4. Use Scripture in Prayer

Incorporate Scripture into your intercession.

Pray God's promises back to Him, declaring His Word over your life and circumstances.

This aligns your prayers with His will and releases His power.

Unlocking your destiny requires engaging with God through heartfelt worship and fervent intercession.

Worship opens the heavens, aligning our hearts with God's and inviting His presence into our lives.

Intercession partners with the Holy Spirit, breaking through barriers and revealing the deep things of God.

By embracing these two keys, we position ourselves to receive the fullness of our divine purpose, walking in the good works prepared for us before the foundations of the world.

Let us commit to a lifestyle of worship and intercession, seeking God's face and partnering with Him to see His will accomplished in our lives.
